National Primate Liberation Week 2004 – The Largest One Ever!

National Primate Liberation Week 2004 was even larger than last year with activists participating in more than 20 cities across the US. News conferences, protests, rallies, tabling, and other events revealed the truth about primate experimentation to the public on a huge scale. Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! released our newest investigative report: Primate Experimentation in the US: The Facts We Weren’t Supposed to Know. This landmark report revealed that over 96,000 primates suffer in US labs annually at a cost to taxpayers of over $1.1 billion.

The photo gallery from National Primate Liberation Week 2004 shows protests in San Diego, Washington DC, Durham (NC), Los Angeles, and many other cities. Media coverage of National Primate Liberation was substantial. Examples from Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and Kansas City are available in the media coverage section. We would like to sincerely thank all of the activists and organizations whose hard work made this event such a success. We look forward to working with everyone again in 2005!  (To enlarge photo from vigil at UCLA, click on the photo or link)
